Educational support can mean different things, depending on the student's needs. We work with the student, parents, teachers, and other professionals in a collaborative process to better understand the student's struggles, identify and utilize his or her strengths, and suggest ways everyone can work together to support the academic success and feeling of competence within the student.
Parents seek consult for reasons such as helping advocate for their child's needs in the academic environment, learning how to motivate their child to achieve academic success, implementing new study strategies, structuring homework time, assisting their child with time management, or for helping their high school senior manage the college search and decision.
Students often seek consult for help with meeting academic demands, enhancing his or her self-confidence, reducing test anxiety, learning more effective time management behaviors, understanding and addressing academic struggles, or assisting with the college search and making that overwhelming decision of a college major or which school to attend.
We have frequently worked in collaboration with teachers who seek to assist the student with specific academic challenges and/or follow recommendations made from psychological testing.
